RE: Extension request to License Condition 57.A Storage of Railcars Longer Than Seven Days Radioactive Material License Number UT 2300249
Dear Mr. Rogers:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control has completed is review of EnergySolutions’ June 8, 2018 request for an extension to License Condition 57.A to store railcars longer than seven days based on recent damage from a minor derailment. Your request is hereby approved with the following
conditions:
1. The extension shall expire on June 26, 2018. 2. The extension shall apply to those shipments listed in EnergySolutions’ June 8, 2018 letter (CD18-0105).
3. EnergySolutions shall post, in accordance with UAC R313-15-902, any radiological hazards
associated with any applicable railcars while outside the Restricted Area. 4. Upon arrival at the Clive Facility, a radiological survey shall be conducted on each railcar. Any railcar exhibiting an exposure rate of 2.0 mrem/hr or higher 30 cm from the surface of the railcar shall be immediately moved into the Restricted Area of Section 32. 5. Railcars shall be moved into the Restricted Area as soon as operationally feasible.
This approval does not relieve EnergySolutions from any other obligations imposed by applicable rules and Radioactive Material License UT2300249. (Over)
