Dear Mr. Rogers:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control has completed its review of
EnergySolutions ' request to extend the 2016 CWF Phase I 24 feet eastward, with modifications to
drawings 10014-005(8), 10014-C10(4) and 10014-C11(2). The request was dated May 24, 2018
(CD18-0096). It is understood that CWF waste will not be placed in this Phase I extension. Therefore,
the extension is approved for Phase I of the 2016 CWF in accordance with the submitted construction
drawings.

Containerized Waste Facility Drawings
Mr. Anderson:
EnergySolutions herein requests that Groundwater Quality Discharge Permit No.
UGW450005 be modified to incorporate revisions to the 2016 Containerized Waste
Facility (2016 CWF). On May 9, 2016, the Utah Division of Waste Management and
Radiation Control conditionally approved EnergySolutions ' request (made per CD16-
0050) to construct Phases I and II of the 2016 CWF. As is reflected in the attached
Engineering Drawings 10014-005(8), 10014-C10(4) and 10014-C11(2), EnergySolutions
requests approval to extend Phase I of the 2016 CWF approximately 24 feet eastward in
order to facilitate construction of a new operational haul road. CWF waste will not be
placed in this extension.
