Dear Mayor Beesley: An inspection of the Plain City Landfill was conducted by a representative of the Division of Waste
Management and Radiation Control on June 13, 2018. The landfill appears to be well operated and in compliance with current regulations. Only demolition and construction wastes were present at the landfill. Signs are numerous and clear. No scattered litter was observed and the working face was of reasonable size and adequately covered. The solid waste permit requires that wastes be covered with soil at least once per
month. The landfill operator does an outstanding job of keeping prohibited waste out of the landfill and segregating materials for reuse or recycling. As mentioned in past correspondence, please ensure that trained landfill personnel are onsite when the landfill is open and that other city employees or residents are not given unsupervised access.
