P.O. Box 507 Springville, Utah 84663 RE: Compliance Evaluation Inspection
Springville Transfer Station
Dear Mr. Ficklin: On June 13, 2018, the Springville Transfer Station was inspected by a representative of the Division of
Waste Management and Radiation Control. We appreciate the time and assistance from Marc Loveless
during the inspection. All bays were open and in good operation. Solid waste disposed on the bay floors were properly mixed by front-end loaders and pushed into a compaction room where it was prepared for transportation to the
Bayview Landfill. Curbside recyclable material was disposed in Bays 4 and 5. Electronics, metal and
spent tires were collected from in-coming loads and staged in separate areas until transported to their respective recycling centers. Management of run-on and run-off were in place. Overall operations at the facility appeared orderly.
Daily records of incoming waste are recorded at the scale house and random waste inspections are done
on the floor at the bays. Employee training is done routinely. Based on the findings documented during the inspection, the transfer station was in compliance with applicable solid waste rules and conditions of the permit. If you have any questions, please call Matt Sullivan at (801) 536-0241.
Sincerely,
Scott T. Anderson, Director Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control
