Dear Mr. Van Os:
Per your request, Salt Lake Valley Solid Waste Management Facility (SLVSWMF or Landfill) has prepared
this letter to request approval to begin processing green waste brought to the facility by residents and small
businesses on an unpaved (but improved) space. During your recent inspection of our operation, this option
was discussed.
SLVSWMF fully intends to comply with all requirements of our environmental permits.
We understand that this would only be for processing green waste material into a mulch product that would
not be stored on the unpaved section. Additionally, the material would not be watered or otherwise
composted on the unpaved area.
This area is located on the far east side of the current compost windrow area. Thank you for your
consideration and approval of this change in practice.
