Box 854 Delta, Utah 84624 RE: Compliance Evaluation Inspection Fillmore Class IVb Landfill Dear Mr. Higgins: On May 23, 2018, a representative of the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control inspected the Fillmore Class IVb Landfill. Thank you for your participation in the inspection. The disposal area west of the scale house was horseshoe-shaped. The open disposal working face area was smaller in width compared to past inspections and was in good condition. Green yard waste is routinely burned in small piles. Please ensure that the burning of green waste is coordinated with your county fire marshal. The recyclable metals pile was orderly. The west and north boundaries were graded to an approximate 3:1 slope. Required documents were inspected at the scale house. Daily in-coming solid waste loads were recorded and random inspections were recorded, but did not appear to be done daily. At least one random inspection should be done every working day. Quarterly site inspections were done but not recorded. Please ensure that at least one site walk-through inspection is recorded quarterly. Training is regularly done in-house and through organizations such as SWANA. Acceptance of common trash and large bulk items (furniture, tables, etc.) from households cannot be disposed of at the Fillmore Class IVb Landfill as outlined in your permit. If you have any questions, please call Matt Sullivan at (801) 536-0241. Sincerely, Scott T.
