RE: Bountiful Landfill and Compost Facility Inspection
Dear Mr. Christensen: The Bountiful Sanitary Landfill was inspected by a representative of the Division of Waste Management
and Radiation Control on May 10, 2018. In general, the landfill is well operated.
Signs are clear and informative, roads are well maintained and fences and gates are intact. Records of daily operations and facility and load inspections are available. The public drop off and recycling areas, including compost, are also well maintained. Our staff has provided you with example forms to better
document the results of load inspections.
It was noted during the inspection that waste has been deposited on the exterior northeast slope to reduce the angle of the slope and bring it closer to final grade. The waste on the slope is inadequately covered. Intermediate or daily cover should be placed on the exposed waste as appropriate.
