Bottom ash sampling was conducted on May 1, 2018, at Stericycle's North Salt Lake incinerator
facility in accordance with the requirements outlined in I.H.1 and I.H.4 of Stericycle's Operating
Permit #9102. The sample was analyzed by American West Analytical Laboratories (AWAL) for
Toxic Characteristics Leaching Procedure (TCLP) for eight (8) RCRA metals.
TCLP results received May 3, 2018, were below the regulatory threshold levels associated with
the toxicity characteristic for the eight (8) RCRA metals. Three (3) metals constituents (barium,
chromium, and lead) exceeded the laboratory's reporting limits. (See the results in the table,
below.) The five (5) other RCRA TCLP metals were below the laboratory's reporting limits.
Metal TCLP result (mg/L) TCLP regulatory level (mg/L)
Barium 7.03 100
Chromium 0.299 5.0
Lead 0.132 5.0
The data package for the sample analysis was evaluated and validated by a third party. Results
