RE: Phase 4C Expansion Cell Washington County Landfill
Dear Mr. Olsen: On April 19, 2018, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control received the 2018 4C Expansion, Construction Documentation Submittal (As-Built Submittal) for the Washington County
Landfill. The As-Built Submittal was provided by Hansen Allen and Luce, Inc. and was stamped by a professional engineer certifying that the Phase 4C expansion cell was constructed and geosynthetic materials were installed in accordance with the design outlined in the Construction Quality Assurance plan. The newly constructed Phase 4C expansion cell is located adjacent to and west of the original municipal
solid waste disposal cell and northeast of the active Phase 4B cell. Site and cell construction inspections were conducted by Division staff during pre-construction and construction activities from January through April 2018.
Based on its review of the As-Built Submittal, the Division concurs with the engineer’s signed certification letter for the Phase 4C expansion cell. The Phase 4C expansion cell may receive waste as specified in the current permit.
