The source is located at 3815 West 1580 North, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County. DAQ has determined the small source exemption applies to the source as long as the equipment and associated processes operate as specified in the registration request. The small source exemption does not exempt a source from complying with other applicable federal, state, and local regulations and the current Utah Administrative Code. Based on the emissions that you submitted to DAQ with your registration request, UPS is not required to obtain an approval order under R307-401 for the Emergency Generator. If you change your operation such that there is an increase in emissions, we recommend that you notify us, as an approval order may be required. As authorized by the Utah Legislature, the fee for issuing this small source exemption is a one-time filing fee in addition to the actual time spent by the review engineer and all other staff on the project. Payment should be sent to DAQ upon receipt of the invoice. 195 North 1950 West • Salt Lake City, UT Mailing Address: P.O. Alternator Single-bearing alternators couple directly to the engine flywheel with flexible discs for drivetrain reliability and durability. No gear reducers or speed changers are used. Two-thirds pitch windings eliminate third-order harmonic content of the AC voltage waveform and provide the standardization desired for paralleling of generator sets. A Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) excitation system limits voltage dip during transient load application, sustains 3-phase short circuit current at approximately three times rated for up to 10 seconds, and is resistant to harmful effects of harmonics generated by non-linear loads. The alternator delivers excellent performance in applications containing large motors or sensitive electronics. Various alternator sizes are available to meet individual application needs. Alternator sizes are differentiated by maximum winding temperature rise at the generator set standby or prime rating when operated in a 40oC ambient environment. Available temperature rises range from 80oC to 150oC. Not all temperature rise selections are available on all models. Lower temperature rise is accomplished using larger alternators at lower current density. Lower temperature rise alternators have high motor starting kVA, lower voltage dip upon load application, and they are generally recommended to limit voltage distortion and heating due to harmonics induced by non-linear loads. Alternator Application Notes Alternator Space Heater - is recommended to inhibit condensation. County the Site is located in: Utah County Q6. Briefly describe the process including the end products, raw materials, and process equipment used. The UPS air operations has a newly installed backup generator located at their airport facility. The generator runs for 30 minutes each week (on Mondays) for diagnostic testing. The generator has been installed specifically for backup in the event of total power failure to our building. There are no plans to use this generator as an exclusive power source. We are submitting this small source exemption as we expect to only run the generator for roughly 28 hours annually. Q7. List emission units Exhaust Emission Data at Full Standby: HC (Total unburned hydrocarbons) = 0.14 NOx (Oxides of Nitrogen as NO2) = 4.43 CO (Carbon Monoxide) = 0.39 PM (Particulate Matter) = 0.02 Smoke (Pierburg) = 0.21 All values (except smoke) are cited: g/BHP-hr EPA emissions compliance statement will be attached.
