Rubicon was actively excavating contaminated area while DK Environmental used an XRF to screen soil for lead and arsenic concentrations. DK Environmental indicated that the contaminated lithologic unit was a black sand unit that was likely brought in from the former production facility and used to fill low-lying areas at the Site. After the soil was excavated, the soil was moved and placed on a tarp for classification and eventual removal from the Site.
