Wade Hess <wadehess@utah.gov>Wed, May 1, 2024 at 2:48 PM To: Brian Speer <bspeer@utah.gov> Hi Brian, SLVSMWC is looking to accept 100 tons of Tooele's curbside MSW per month moving forward, but need permission from DEQ as per Salt Lake County Ordinance. The request seems reasonable to me. Can I tell them yes? Or do they need approval from you and/or Doug? If you were to receive payment (beyond typical fees) for the waste, SLVSWMF MSW would become a commercial facility and no longer be a Class I Landfill. If you could send us some sort of proof that the waste will not be accepted for-profit (ie. a contract with Tooele/Lakepoint or an affidavit stating that it would not be accepted for-profit) then we should be good to go.
