Samplers calibrated the equipment in the morning and logged the calibration results. Samplers measured the groundwater elevation, purged MW-K using a bladder pump at low-flow until the groundwater parameters stabilized, and collected the required samples at MW-K in order of volatility. However, the sampler was observed filling a VOC vial only part way with the end of a pump cycle and waiting for the next cycle to finish filling the vial. The inspector explained that the VOC vials should be filled with a single cycle to minimize volatilization. Sampler filled the remaining VOC vials with a single pump cycle. Duplicates were collected at MW-K. 4 The required samples were collected at MW-K according to the Sampling and Analysis Plan in the UTTR Permit. Clean fill was imported for cover at the site. N/A Groundwater samples are being collected according to the Permit. Continue to observe sampling practices at the groundwater sampling events to ensure samples are being collected properly. 4 Utah Test and Training Range – Landfill 5 Groundwater Sampling May16, 2024 Sampler measuring depth to groundwater and getting ready to purge the well. Initial volatiles sampling practice – prior to discussion about minimizing sample volatilization by filling each vial with a single pump cycle. Continuing sampling.
