Source Protection staff will reach out with any questions, once the plan has been reviewed. We had the updated plan for Well #1 (WS002) submitted June 27, 2022. At a preliminary glance, it looks like the update submitted here was the same as the one submitted in June 2022. Please let me know if I am incorrect in that assessment, and I will make sure we review the new submission. The original plan from 2000 states that there are no potential contamination sources (PCSs), however, it looks like some may have developed in the management area since that time. There are dirt roads throughout the management area and there also appear to be sheds or cabins located 1.5 miles to the south of the collection box. Each of these are technically considered PCSs which should be inventoried in the DWSP plan and assessed as controlled or not. Since there are very few PCSs and they likely pose little risk due to the distance from the collection box and their limited use, I will concur with this update for now. However, these additional PCSs must be inventoried and assessed in the next updated DWSP plan, or else the plan will be disapproved. Let me know if you have any questions.
