Dear Joyce & William Hogan:
Subject: Public Drinking Water Requirements for South Rim Water System, UTAH23079
According to the Division of Drinking Water ’s records, South Rim Water System
is a Community water system that now serves a population of about 834 people.
This population change results in the following changes to your systems sampling and operator
certification requirements as follows:
Lead and Copper
This population change brings the total number of Lead and Copper samples required to 10 every
3 years. The next sample(s) must be collected during June 1, 2024 - September 31, 2024. For any
questions regarding the Lead and Copper rule, contact Dylan Martinez at (385) 278-3807 or
dylanmartinez@utah.gov. The updated monitoring requirements for Lead and Copper are
included in the attached monitoring schedule.
Operator Certification Requirements
The system is classified as a Community system that serves a population of 834. This requires a
certified Distribution Grade I (D1) Direct Responsible Charge Operator (DRC) to operate the
system. According to our records, the system does not have an operator certified at the level of
the system. If the population increases, a higher level of certification will be required.
The system has until November 8, 2024, to come into compliance with the R309-300
