Dear Mr. Hansen.
ln accordance with condition 1.Q.9 of Clean Harbors Aragonite's (CHA) State RCRA Permit,
this correspondence serves as written notification of a thermal reliel vent opening. The thermal
reliefvent opening occurred on February 25.2024.
On February 25,2024. at approximately 8:35 AM. the facility experienced a power outage. This
caused a buildup of pressure in the system and the control board operator activated the trip
switch to open the thermal relief vent at approximately 8:37 AM. No waste was fed during the
time the thermal relief vent was open. Once power was restored. the thermal relief vent was
closed at approximately 8:38 AM. It was open for approximately 37 seconds.
CHA has notified Rocky Mountain Power of the incident and is awaiting a response on the
cause.
