RE: Summary ofEP A's Amendments to Used Oil Management Standards· 2/28/94
Dear Dennis.
Used oil, once inserted into the refinery process ••before crude distillation or catalytic
cracking'' is exempt from the management standards provided that is it less than one
percent of the crude oil volwne in any refinery unit. The one percent limit on used oil
mixed with crude oil is maintained throughout this and other provisions of the rule.
There are no provisions prescribing how that one percent level is to be verified.
This should conclude Tesoro Refinery's responsibility.
With Golden Eagle Oil Refinery's conversation with the state, for our one percent
volwne to Tesoro, we would use first six (6) months average to use for the following six
(6)months.
