Re: Six-Month Opacity Observation (NESHAp SubpartZZZZZ)
Dear Mr. Bird:
McWane Ductile - Utah (MDU) peformed semi-annual fugitive opacity observations on
December 4-7, 2023, as required by the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air
Polfutants (NESHAP) for Iron and Steel Foundries Area Sources (SubpartZZZZZ). Opacity
observations were conducted in accordance with 40 CFR 63.6(h) and 40 cFR 63:loaggtn).
Completed visua! observation forms are included with this submittal along with proof of -
obseruer certification. All observation results were below limits. Data was submitted to
USEPA via the Compliance and Emissions Data Reporting Interface (CEDRI).
I certify that the identified sources and associated capture systems operated normally
during the applicable fugitive emission testing. I certify that, based on information and
belief formed after a reasonable inquiry, the statements made in this repoft are true,
accurate, and complete. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the informationprovided, please contact christy seiger-webster at (g01) 623-4214 or at

The enclosed Visual Emissions Observation (VEO) forms were completed by the foltowing individuals
certified in EPA Test Method 9 - Visual Determination of the Opacity of Emissions from Stationary
Sources. These VEOs represent the truth as well as can be derived by the methods employed. Every
effort was made to obtain accurate and representative data and to comply with the applicable
testing procedure.

Observe the source continuously. Record the clock time when observations begin. Stort the first stopwotch when the obseruation
period begins. Stop the stopwotch when a break begins ond restort the stopwatch without resetting it when the break ends. The
occumuloted time indicated by the first stopwotch is the durotion of the obseruotion period. Do not obserue emissions continuously
for o period of more thon 75 to 20 minutes without taking o rest break of 5 - 70 minutes. Upon obseruing on emission (condensed
water vopor is not considered on emission), stort the second stopwotch; stop the watch when the emission stops. The occumuloted
time indicoted by the second stopwotch is the occumuloted emission time of the observation period.
