Subject: Notice of Increased Monitoring for Fruitland Water SSD; UTAH07058
Dear Bonner Hardgree:
On January 16, 2024, the Division of Drinking Water (the Division) spoke with Fruitland Water
SSD about their source monitoring requirements. In that discussion, it was disclosed that the Little
Red Spring (identified as WS003 in the Division’s database) serves several connections prior to
mixing with the Mill Hollow Lower Spring (WS002) and Mill Hollow Upper Spring (WS001) in
the distribution system. Given this, the Little Red Spring (WS001) no longer qualifies to be
sampled at the group sample station (SS968) comprised of both the Upper and Lower Mill Hollow
Springs.
The Little Red Spring is now required to be sampled as a stand-alone source prior to the first
connection served. Considering that many of these parameters have not been evaluated at the
Little Red Spring since 2005, the routine monitoring frequencies for these parameters will be
determined once the initial results have been received and reviewed. The following tests are due
by July 31, 2024.
