Shelley Executive Director DIVISION OF DRINKING WATER Tim Davis Director November 21, 2023 Brian Hunnings Red Cliffs Partners LLC Mile Post 14 HWY 128 Moab, UT 84532 Subject: Notice of Facility ID Change, Confirmation Sampling, Red Cliffs Partners LLC: UTAH10037 Brian Hunnings: This letter is to notify Red Cliffs Partners LLC (“the system”) that the reported Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and Sulfate levels present in the Red Cliffs Well 2 (identified as WS002 in the Division of Drinking Water’s (the Division) database) exceed their respective Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCL) of 2000mg/L and 1000mg/L. The samples collected on October 12, 2023 show TDS at levels of 3612mg/L and Sulfate levels of 1074mg/L. According to the Division’s records, Red Cliffs Partners LLC operates several point of use reverse osmosis (R.O.) treatment plants which treat the Red Cliffs Well 2 (WS002) prior to the first connection served. To determine compliance with the TDS and Sulfate standards, the Division requests that the system take TDS and Sulfate confirmation samples from the point of use R.O. treatment plant identified as “Lodge R.O.” (TP003) by March 31, 2024. Please record TP003 as the facility ID on all laboratory paperwork. The confirmation sample results will count towards your 2024 source sampling requirements. The purpose of these samples is to determine the water quality of the water served to consumers and efficacy of treatment. All source samples, including Nitrate, TDS and Sulfate samples, shall now be collected from the Lodge R.O (TP003), after the water has undergone treatment. The systems monitoring requirements have been changed to reflect this change in sample location. These changes are available to view anytime online on your systems water monitoring page on waterlink.utah.gov. Thank you for all the work you do to maintain clean drinking water. If you have any questions or concerns with this change, please contact David Kruse at dbkruse@utah.gov or 385-566-7789.
