Subject: Notice of Increased Monitoring for Rockville Pipeline Co, UTAH27014
Robert Snyder:
According to the Division of Drinking Water’s (the Division) records, the Group Source Sampling
Station SS007 (listed as SS007 in the Divisions database) detected Radium-228 at levels of 5.6
pCi/L on September 27, 2023. The Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) for this contaminant is 5
pCi/L. As a result of this, this source is now subject to increased monitoring in accordance with
R309-205-7(c)(v). Compliance with the Radium-228 MCL will be determined by the Running
Annual Average (RAA) of the samples collected at the Group Source Sampling Station SS007
(SS007). If at any point the RAA is greater than 5 pCi/L, a MCL violation will be issued, and
public notice will be required.
Group Source Sampling Station SS007 (SS007) is now required to be sampled each calendar
quarter that the facility is running for Radium 226, Radium-228 and Gross Alpha Particle
Activity. Presented below are the complete monitoring requirements for this facility.
