Shelley Executive Director DIVISION OF DRINKING WATER Tim Davis Director October 3, 2023 Robert Tyson Jackson Pleasant View Culinary Water 520 W Elberta Dr Ogden, Utah 84414 Subject: Notice of Increased Nitrate Monitoring for Pleasant View Culinary Water: UTAH29014 Robert Tyson Jackson: According to the Division of Drinking Water (The Division) records, a routine Nitrate sample was taken on August 16, 2023 at the Little Missouri Spring (identified as WS001 in the Division’s database). The results of the analysis show that Nitrate was detected at 5.1 mg/L. This result requires increased monitoring in accordance with R309-205-5(4)(b). The Nitrate monitoring schedule for the Little Missouri Spring (WS001) has been changed to quarterly. A Nitrate sample is now expected each quarter that the Little Missouri Spring (WS001) supplies water to the system. After four quarters of Nitrate sampling, if the results show that Nitrate levels are reliably and consistently below the Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 10mg/L, then the schedule can be reduced back to one Nitrate sample per year. An updated monitoring schedule for the Little Missouri Spring (WS001) is given below. An updated monitoring schedule can be viewed any time at waterlink.utah.gov under the water monitoring section.
