Attached is the second annual inspection report for the Northwest Oil Drain (NWOD)
Site, completed per the Post Removal Site Control Plan (PRSCP) (DOF 9/17/2021).
The visual inspection occurred on July 6, 2023, and the measurement of cover
thickness at SPA 1 occurred on November 14, 2023. The report is based on the
template included in the Post Removal Site Control Plan (PRSCP). The primary
findings of the report are summarized below.
Sheen Monitoring Report.
There was no sheen monitoring per the PRSCP, as no sheen was detected during the
2022 inspection. No corrective action or specific follow-up is required.
SPA 1 and SPA 1A Monitoring.
* Fences and gates in generally good condition with no damage or breaches.
* The warning sign at the south gate of SPA 1 was replaced as it was partially
obscured by graffiti as noted in the 2022 annual inspection report.
* Canal water adjacent to the SPAs was free of sheen.
* Pictures include SPA 1 and SPA 1A and of the canal adjacent to SPAs.
* SPA 1A appeared to be generally undisturbed and in good condition.
* SPA 1
* Was in good condition with no significant ruts or gouges.
* The thickness of gravel over orange geotextile marker bed was measured by
surveying by Diamond Land Surveying.
* Cover thickness ranged from 0.62’ (location T5) to 1.58’ (location T1).
Corrective Actions
* SPA 1A ‐ No corrective action or specific follow up is required.
* SPA 1 ‐ No corrective action required for gravel cover thickness as the trigger
criteria is 0.5’.
