I haven't received a site characterization report and I was told by wasatch that there is a delay in this a while back, but I thought I would check in again. Also, I was contacted over the last few days by individuals involved in the development of the site immediately adjacent to you to the north. They will be starting work soon. Any contamination migrating from your site to offsite should be characterized, but it's probably also not unreasonable for you to reach out to the adjacent property and coordinate with them. I was also wondering what if any plans or approaches you currently have for what's going on on-site. Thank you, Leigh Anderson Leigh Anderson <kanderson@utah.gov>Thu, Mar 7, 2024 at 5:18 PM To: Bill Rees <brees@utah.gov> Sorry, here is the email, I forgot to cc. I am kind of in and out these days. If you want to reach out to me before you go out, I can meet you there or we can figure out a time if that is best? So we’ve had a couple delays with the financing on the project, so we are a little behind, but still moving forward. Wasatch is waiting for a payment before they release the site characterization. I believe but the bank should be wrapping up soon, so we will be able to move forward at that point. 4/26/24, 12:07 AM State of Utah Mail - Request for information/updates https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=5be3741f93&view=pt&search=all&permthid=thread-a:r-8456840802287027466&simpl=msg-a:r70541154847538…2/3 Best regards, Jake Elsmore Director of Operations jake@washmorelaundry.com Phone: 801-792-5253 [Quoted text hidden] Bill Rees <brees@utah.gov>Fri, Mar 8, 2024 at 10:26 AM To: jake@washmorelaundry.com Cc: Leigh Anderson <kanderson@utah.gov> Hi Jake, As a follow-up to Leigh's email, below are two excerpts from the Voluntary Cleanup Agreement: "If the site characterization demonstrates that contaminants have been released on and potentially migrated off-site above Screening Levels or other published standards, the Applicant shall adequately delineate the extent of contamination for the purposes of evaluating the risk, managing the on-site and off-site contaminant impact and potentially remediating the impact. The delineation shall be completed in conjunction with the site characterization activities and documented in the Site Characterization Report." " If residual soil and/or groundwater contamination remains at the Site and/or the neighboring property(s) after completion of the Applicant’s site characterization and remedial action, the Applicant shall submit a Site Management Plan (SMP) detailing how the remaining contamination will be managed." 4/26/24, 12:07 AM State of Utah Mail - Request for information/updates https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=5be3741f93&view=pt&search=all&permthid=thread-a:r-8456840802287027466&simpl=msg-a:r70541154847538…3/3 If work is starting on the adjacent property, and impacts have been released on and potentially migrated off-site above Screening Levels or other published standards, now is a good time to address this part of the agreement. Please provide us an update and propose next steps since we have not heard from you recently. I'd be happy to meet on site once you feel you are ready to move forward. That would also be a good time for us to discuss an approach for the contaminants that are migrating off-site. Please keep us informed about your plans and schedule. [Quoted text hidden]
